La poesía de la comida
In this project we picked dishes from Spanish-speaking countries to learn about and then serve at exhibition. Then we wrote odes in both Spanish and English about either our dish, or an ingredient from our dish. I chose to make the hot chocolate and churros from Spain. This hot chocolate is different from American hot chocolate because it is really thick and not super sweet. I wrote my ode about the hot chocolate. We studied Pablo Neruda, a famous poet who wrote many food odes.

Project Reflection
In this project I learned about writing odes in Spanish, and the difficulties with that. I thought the exhibition was really cool and fun, I just wish they ran the schedule differently. Because I was exhibiting 4 classes and only had half an hour for each project, we didn't really have very long. I would have liked to have had a little more time serving food, it was fun and people seemed to enjoy my dish. The most challenging part of the project for me was figuring out how to make my food successively. I really liked serving food to people and hearing how impressed they were with all of us, and that they enjoyed the food. Next time I might actually show up to exhibition a little less prepared because I brought a lot of things for serving my dish and extra stuff that didn't end up getting used so I kind of wasted some stuff. I'm kinda proud of the ode actually. I think it's decent for its simplicity and I didn't have to look up all that many words, so I think people could figure it out mostly without the translation. This project was fun and I liked it.
